JOIN US FOR A SPECIAL SHABBAT SERVICE WITH GUEST SPEAKER SHERYL HIRSH SPEAKING ABOUT THE OPIOID CRISIS
Friday, March 23
Kabbalat Shabbat w/ Sheryl Hirsh - 6:00 pm
Join us for this special service as we welcome Sheryl who will speak about  “A personal story of the opioid crisis and how we can make a difference”

Sheryl Hirsh became a part of the Siegal Lifelong Learning team in 2012 after working with Siegal College for the previous 16 years. She serves as the Assistant Director of Jewish Lifelong Learning.

After losing her daughter Melissa in May 2013, Sheryl became focused on the importance of educating others about the dangers of the opioid crisis. Through the Siegal Lifelong Learning Program, Sheryl has spearheaded an annual educational series to address the opiate crisis on the local and national level. She spends much of her free time participating in several opiate task force committees on the local, county, state and federal levels. Sheryl has been featured in the Cleveland Magazine and the Cleveland Jewish News, sharing her personal story of tragedy and addressing the epidemic in Cuyahoga County. In 2017, Sheryl had the honor of being chosen as one of Cleveland Jewish News 18 Difference Makers.

At The Temple-Tifereth Israel we create sacred time and space, allowing us to set aside daily concerns, experience a sense of community, and reflect on the meaning of our lives. It is where we worship, where we learn, and where we find ways to put Jewish values into practice. It is a place to celebrate with one another in times of joy and find spiritual guidance and emotional support in times of sadness and personal need. The Temple enables us to deepen our spiritual connection to God, each other, the State of Israel and the Jewish people throughout the world, and to the generations that preceded us and those that will follow.

If you are unable to attend in person, we are pleased to stream Kabbalat Shabbat live every Friday.
