Join us for this special one-act play written and performed by Anne McEvoy as she portrays Bernhardt, featuring student congregant Ilana Estrin and directed by Jacqi Loewy. Special French pastry reception to follow!
Anne McEvoy is a local director and actor. She has appeared onstage at Beck Center, Cleveland Play House, Cleveland Public Theatre, Dobama, Ensemble, Great Lakes Theatre, Karamu, None Too Fragile, Ohio Shakespeare, Seat of the Pants Theatre as well as Women In History, which she joined in 1998. Her background is in theater, receiving a BA in Speech and Drama from Ursuline College and working for over 40 years in the varying capacities of director, playwright, composer, lyricist, choreographer, and actor in professional and community theater in the greater Cleveland area.
Ilana Estrin is a 9th grade student at Mayfield High School and a student in The Temple Learning Center. She has been dancing for most of her life, and has also been in several productions with the Cleveland Ballet. She is now involved with performing arts at her high school, including musicals, concert choir, and show choir. In her free time, she enjoys crafting and biking. Ilana loves spending time outdoors and time with her family. She is thrilled to be a part of this production and to be portraying a young Sarah Bernhardt.
