MESSAGE AT A GLANCE:

— We are at the very beginning stages of our discussions.

— No decisions have been made and we are open to all possibilities!

— We want your input! Please email President@ttti.org with any thoughts or comments, or if you want someone to call you.

Dear Temple Friends & Family,

During the last month, the Exploration Task Forces from each temple have been hard at work. Our Task Force, chaired by Ken Hochman along with members Beth Dery, Michael Frayman, Bruce Goodman, Russ Klein, Ben Light, and Jeanne Tobin, met independently with the project’s joint facilitator/consultant, Panoramic Strategies (principals Beth Rosenberg and David Kaplan). Both Beth and David, native Clevelanders who know and understand our community, have worked extensively with Jewish communities across the country. They are familiar with both Anshe Chesed Fairmount Temple and The Temple-Tifereth Israel and understand the Jewish Cleveland landscape.

Together with their guidance, we have been gathering data for a knowledge base on which to build our strategic conversations. The data include not only information about us, but demographic trends in the Cleveland Jewish community and national trends in Reform Judaism.

Our TTTI Task Force had its first meeting with Beth Rosenberg the first week of April. We plan to have our first joint meeting between Temple Task Forces by the end of the month, followed by two more joint meetings. The third one will be an all-day retreat in late June. Our clergy team has also met with Beth Rosenberg.

With the guidance of our facilitators, we are beginning to thoughtfully brainstorm opportunities for collaboration along the way. Even before these discussions began, our two organizations have found opportunities to add value to our own programs by combining efforts. Our cemetery is one such successful partnership.

We are committed to keeping this process open and transparent to our congregation. So please continue to share your thoughts and questions by writing to President@ttti.org.

We look forward to sharing more information soon,

The Temple-Tifereth Israel Exploration Task Force
